Here, on the left, is my second effort at coloring one of Palmer Cox's insanely detailed Brownie illustrations. It's from "The Brownies at School," and I wonder if this isn't the first time they have ever seen a representation of this blue ball that we're all stuck on. I'm trying to keep the colors as muted as possible, to give it a more vintage look. The globe is still too bright to suit me Today's "proverbs" card features possibly the most famous Brownie of them all, the "Toff." It seems to me that he's the one who usually gets into the most trouble; certainly he's the one who's usually at loggerheads with the "Policeman" Brownie... of whom there is thankfully only one.
